How to edit, delete, or unpublish a publication

After uploading a publication, you can manage it from your Magazine.io dashboard.

You can edit publication details, update files, or remove a publication when you no longer want it to be available online.

Where to manage your publications

To manage your uploaded publications:

  • Log in to your Magazine.io account.
  • Go to My Account.
  • Open My Magazines.

From there, you can see the publications connected to your account.

How to edit a publication

Use the edit option when you want to update an existing publication.

You may be able to edit details such as:

  • Publication title
  • PDF file
  • Cover image
  • Short description
  • Website link

To edit a publication:

  • Go to My AccountMy Magazines.
  • Find the publication you want to update.
  • Click Edit.
  • Make your changes.
  • Save or submit the updated publication.

After saving, the publication page will use the updated information.

Does editing count as a new publication?

No. Editing an existing publication does not count as uploading a new publication.

For example, if your plan allows 10 active publications and you already have 10, you can still edit those existing publications.

You only need an available publication slot when creating a new publication.

How to delete a publication

Use delete when you want to remove a publication from your account.

To delete a publication:

  • Go to My AccountMy Magazines.
  • Find the publication you want to remove.
  • Click Delete.
  • Confirm the deletion if prompted.

After a publication is deleted, its public publication page may no longer be available.

What happens when I delete a publication?

When you delete a publication:

  • The publication is removed from your dashboard
  • The public publication page may stop working
  • Readers may no longer be able to open or download it
  • The publication may no longer count toward your active publication limit

If you shared the publication link before deleting it, that link may no longer work.

Can I unpublish instead of deleting?

Depending on the available account options, you may be able to remove a publication from public view without permanently deleting it.

Unpublishing is useful if you want to temporarily take a publication offline, but may want to restore or update it later.

If an unpublish option is not available in your dashboard, you can delete the publication or edit it as needed.

When should I edit instead of deleting?

Edit a publication when:

  • You uploaded the wrong cover image
  • You need to update the description
  • You want to change the website link
  • You need to replace the PDF with a corrected version
  • You want to fix the title

Delete or unpublish a publication when:

  • The publication is outdated
  • You no longer want readers to access it
  • You need to free an active publication slot
  • The content was uploaded by mistake

Can I recover a deleted publication?

Deleted publications may not always be recoverable from your dashboard.

Before deleting, make sure you no longer need the publication page, PDF, cover image, or analytics for that publication.

If you deleted something by mistake, contact support as soon as possible.

Summary

To edit, delete, or unpublish a publication, go to My AccountMy Magazines. Editing lets you update an existing publication without using a new slot. Deleting or unpublishing removes the publication from public access and may free space under your plan limit.
