Terms of Service
Last updated: 08.07.2026
Welcome to Magazine.io.
These Terms of Service explain the rules for using Magazine.io, including creating an account, purchasing a plan, uploading publications, and using our publishing platform.
By using Magazine.io, creating an account, purchasing a plan, or uploading a publication, you agree to these Terms.
If you have any questions about these Terms, you can contact us at:
contact@magazine.io
1. What Magazine.io does
Magazine.io is an online platform that allows publishers to upload PDF publications and create public publication pages.
You can use Magazine.io to publish content such as:
- magazines;
- catalogs;
- brochures;
- newsletters;
- zines;
- menus;
- guides;
- reports;
- lookbooks;
- portfolios;
- event programs;
- similar PDF-based publications.
Each publication may include a public publication page, online flipbook viewer, PDF download button, cover image, short description, optional website link, sharing options, and basic publication analytics.
2. Accounts
To upload and manage publications, you need a Magazine.io publisher account.
Publisher accounts are created through checkout when you choose a paid plan.
Readers do not need an account to view public publication pages.
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that happens under your account.
You agree to provide accurate account and billing information and to keep your email address up to date.
Your email address may be used for account notices, order confirmations, renewal reminders, password resets, support communication, and important service updates.
3. Plans and publication limits
Magazine.io plans include a limit on the number of active publications you can have at the same time.
An active publication is a publication that is live and available on its public Magazine.io page.
If you reach your plan limit, you may need to delete or unpublish an existing publication, or upgrade to a higher plan, before uploading another publication.
Editing an existing publication does not count as creating a new publication.
Plans may also be subject to our fair use policy, especially in cases of unusually high traffic, bandwidth, storage, downloads, or server resource usage.
4. Fair use policy
Magazine.io plans are designed for normal publishing use based on the plan selected.
Each plan includes access to publication hosting, public publication pages, online viewing, PDF downloads, and publication analytics. These features are provided under a fair use policy to help keep the platform reliable and sustainable for all users.
Fair use may include reasonable usage of:
- publication hosting;
- PDF storage;
- public page traffic;
- flipbook viewing;
- PDF downloads;
- bandwidth;
- analytics processing;
- server resources.
We do not currently publish fixed traffic or bandwidth limits for each plan. However, if an account generates unusually high usage compared to typical users on the same plan, we may contact the account owner to discuss a suitable solution.
Examples of unusually high usage may include:
- very high publication traffic;
- very high PDF download volume;
- unusually large files or storage usage;
- activity that creates excessive server load;
- usage that materially increases hosting, bandwidth, or processing costs;
- usage that affects the performance or reliability of Magazine.io for other users.
In these cases, we may ask the account owner to upgrade to a higher plan, reduce usage, optimize uploaded files, or agree to a custom arrangement.
We will make reasonable efforts to contact the account owner before taking action, unless the usage creates an urgent technical, security, legal, or service stability issue.
If excessive usage continues without a suitable resolution, we may limit, suspend, or restrict access to some features, publications, downloads, or account functions.
This fair use policy is not intended to penalize normal growth. It exists to make sure that plans remain fair, reliable, and sustainable for all Magazine.io users.
5. Payments
Payments for Magazine.io plans are processed through Stripe or another payment provider we may use in the future.
Magazine.io does not store your full card number on our own servers.
By making a payment, you agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize the payment for the selected plan.
Prices are shown on the Pricing page or checkout page.
We may update pricing from time to time. Pricing changes will not affect purchases already completed, but may apply to future purchases, renewals, upgrades, or new plan selections.
6. No automatic renewal
Magazine.io does not currently use automatic renewal.
This means your plan will not automatically renew and your card will not be automatically charged at the end of your subscription period.
We may send a renewal reminder approximately 1–2 weeks before your membership expires.
To continue using publisher features without interruption, you should renew your plan before the expiration date shown in your account.
You can check your membership status from:
My Account → My Membership
7. Subscription expiration and grace period
If your subscription expires, your account may enter an approximate 30-day grace period.
During the grace period, your existing publications may remain available, but some publisher features may be limited.
For example, you may not be able to:
- upload new publications;
- use additional publication slots;
- access all publisher features;
- fully manage your publications;
- make full use of your active publication limit.
If your plan is not renewed after the grace period, your publisher access may be suspended and your public publication pages may be unpublished, restricted, or made unavailable until renewal.
We may adjust the grace period or expiration process in the future.
8. Refunds
Because Magazine.io provides digital publishing services, payments are generally non-refundable once access to the service has been provided.
However, if you believe there has been a billing error, duplicate payment, or technical issue, contact us at:
contact@magazine.io
We will review the situation and decide whether a refund is appropriate.
Approved refunds may be processed through Stripe or another payment provider.
9. Your content
You are responsible for all content you upload, submit, publish, or add to Magazine.io.
This includes:
- PDF files;

- the content does not contain private information you are not allowed to publish;

You keep ownership of your content.
However, by uploading content to Magazine.io, you give us permission to host, store, process, display, reproduce, make available, and technically modify that content as needed to provide the Magazine.io service.
This permission is limited to operating, improving, securing, displaying, and promoting the Magazine.io service and your publications through the platform.

Do not upload content that you do not want to be publicly available.
For the current version of Magazine.io, PDF downloads are enabled by default. This means readers can download the PDF file from the publication page.
11. PDF downloads
Magazine.io publication pages currently include a PDF download option by default.
This means that readers may download the PDF file you upload.
By uploading a publication, you understand and accept that the PDF may be accessible and downloadable by readers from the public publication page.
Do not upload confidential, private, restricted, or unpublished material unless you are comfortable with it being publicly accessible and downloadable.
12. External links
When uploading or editing a publication, you may be able to add an optional external website link.
You are responsible for any website links you add.
You agree not to link to websites that are illegal, harmful, misleading, malicious, abusive, or that violate the rights of others.
Magazine.io is not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices, or security of third-party websites.

We reserve the right to remove content, restrict publications, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
14. Copyright and infringement complaints
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and publish your content.
If you believe that a publication on Magazine.io violates your copyright, privacy, or other rights, contact us at:
contact@magazine.io
Please include enough information for us to identify the publication and review the complaint.
We may remove or restrict access to content if we believe it violates these Terms, applicable law, or the rights of others.

Visitor analytics are anonymized and are not intended to identify individual readers.
Publisher analytics do not show reader names, reader email addresses, visitor IP addresses, individual reader profiles, or personal browsing histories.
16. Reader access
Readers do not need a Magazine.io account to view public publication pages.
Readers may be able to:
- view a publication page;
- open the publication in the online flipbook viewer;
- download the PDF;
- visit an optional external website link;
- share the publication page.
Magazine.io is not responsible for how readers use, share, download, print, or store publicly available publication content.

The service may occasionally be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
