Magazine.io respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use our website and publishing platform.

1. What information we collect

We collect the information needed to provide the Magazine.io service.

This may include:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • account details;
  • billing and order information;
  • selected plan or membership status;
  • uploaded PDF publications;
  • cover images;
  • publication titles and descriptions;
  • optional website links;
  • support messages you send us.

When you purchase or renew a plan, payments are processed by a third-party payment provider. Magazine.io does not store your full card number on our own servers.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account;
  • process orders and renewals;
  • provide access to your publishing plan;
  • allow you to upload and manage publications;
  • display your public publication pages;
  • provide publication analytics;
  • send account, order, and renewal emails;
  • respond to support requests;
  • keep the website secure;
  • comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Public publication pages

When you upload a publication, Magazine.io creates a public page for it.

A public publication page may show:

  • the publication title;
  • cover image;
  • short description;
  • online flipbook viewer;
  • PDF download button;
  • optional website link;
  • sharing options.

Readers do not need a Magazine.io account to view public publication pages.

PDF downloads are currently enabled by default, which means readers can download the uploaded PDF from the publication page.

Please do not upload content that you do not have the right to publish or that contains private information you do not want to make public.

4. Publication analytics

Magazine.io provides basic analytics for your publications.

Analytics may include:

  • views;
  • visitors;
  • PDF downloads;
  • website clicks;
  • countries;
  • referrers;
  • activity over the last 7, 30, or 90 days.

These analytics are designed to show general publication performance, not to identify individual readers.

5. Reader privacy and anonymized analytics

Magazine.io does not provide publishers with personal information about readers.

Publisher analytics do not show:

  • reader names;
  • reader email addresses;
  • visitor IP addresses;
  • individual reader profiles;
  • personal browsing histories.

Analytics are used to show overall trends, such as how many people viewed a publication, where traffic came from, and whether readers clicked download or website links.

6. Cookies and website functionality

Magazine.io may use cookies or similar technologies when needed to operate the website.

These may be used for:

  • account login;
  • checkout;
  • cart and order functionality;
  • security;
  • website preferences;
  • basic website operation.

Our publication analytics are privacy-friendly and do not rely on tracking cookies to build personal reader profiles.

7. Emails we send

We may send you service-related emails, such as:

  • account emails;
  • order confirmations;
  • support replies;
  • renewal reminders;
  • subscription expiration notices;
  • important service updates.

Magazine.io does not use automatic renewal. We may send a renewal reminder approximately 1–2 weeks before your membership expires.

8. How long we keep data

We keep information only as long as needed to provide the service, manage accounts, comply with legal requirements, and maintain website security.

Analytics history is currently available for up to 90 days in the publisher dashboard.

Order and billing records may be kept longer when required for tax, accounting, or legal reasons.

9. Third-party services

Magazine.io may use trusted third-party services to operate the platform, including services for:

  • website hosting;
  • payments;
  • checkout and orders;
  • email delivery;
  • analytics;
  • security.

These services only receive the information needed to perform their role.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to:

  • access your data;
  • correct inaccurate data;
  • request deletion;
  • object to certain processing;
  • request a copy of your data;

You may contact us to request account deletion.

If your account is deleted, your publications, public publication pages, uploaded files, and analytics may no longer be available.

Some order, billing, tax, or legal records may need to be kept even after account deletion.

12. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure website connections, account passwords, access controls, and trusted payment providers.

No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should also keep your login details safe and use a strong password.
