If you cannot upload another publication, it is usually because your account does not currently have an available publication slot or your membership is not active.
Magazine.io plans include a set number of active publications. Once you reach your plan limit, you need to remove an existing publication or upgrade your plan before uploading another one.
Common reasons you cannot upload
You may not be able to upload another publication if:
- Your membership is not active
- Your payment has not been completed
- Your plan limit has been reached
- You are not logged in
- A required upload field is missing
- The file type is not accepted
Your plan limit has been reached
Each Magazine.io plan includes a maximum number of active publications.
For example, if your plan allows 10 active publications and you already have 10 published, you will not be able to upload another one until you free a slot or upgrade your plan.
To check your publications, go to:
- My Account → My Magazines
To check your plan status, go to:
- My Account → My Membership
What is an active publication?
An active publication is a publication that is live and available through its public Magazine.io page.
Active publications count toward your plan limit.
Editing an existing publication does not count as uploading a new one.
How to free a publication slot
To free a slot, you can remove a publication you no longer need.
Go to:
- My Account → My Magazines
Then choose the publication you want to remove and delete or unpublish it if that option is available.
After the publication is no longer active, you should be able to upload another publication, as long as your membership is active.
Your membership is not active
If your membership is expired, cancelled, unpaid, or not fully activated, you may not be able to upload new publications.
You can check your membership status from:
- My Account → My Membership
If you recently completed payment and your membership still does not appear active, contact support with your account email and order number.
Your file may not be accepted
If your membership and publication slots are available, the issue may be related to the file you are trying to upload.
Check that:
- Your publication file is a PDF
- Your cover image is in an accepted image format
- All required fields are completed
- The file is not corrupted or password-protected
- The upload finishes before submitting the form
What to do if the problem continues
If you still cannot upload, contact support and include:
- Your account email
- The plan you are using
- The publication title
- The error message you see
- The type and size of the file you are trying to upload
This helps support identify whether the issue is related to your account, plan limit, file type, or upload process.
Summary
You may not be able to upload another publication if your plan limit has been reached, your membership is not active, or the uploaded file is not accepted. Check My Membership for your plan status and My Magazines to manage your active publications.
